1.0 BACKGROUND

1.1 LILONG DEFINITION

Shanghai has unique urban building fabrics created by :Li Long.  “Li” means neighborhood, “Long” means small lanes. Their origin lies in the spatial concept and construction in traditional Southeast Chinese dwellings. The above image shows a new housing community prototype which has contain lilong spatial character witout neglecting the call for densification. The community offers open space with hierarchy, from total public  ground level to the private balcony space to the top studio living space, imitating lilong spatial quality between private and public.

1.2 FUTURE PROJECTION

3.3 PERSONA

To conclude, young people in shanghai love to:
Socializing
Share resources
Carpooling together and group buying

whereas these habits are rare for young generation in USA.

4.0 DESIGN PROPOSAL

4.1 TOUCHPOINTS

4.2 PROPOSAL

Lilong Net is a community engagement app that offers three levels of interaction within a collective millennium community.
By providing functions like:
Community level-"Event"
Neighbor level-"Help"
Unit level-"Unit"
this app helps the Millennial in Shanghai to better enjoy the co-living communities.

4.3 INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

4.4 LOW FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

I designed three rounds of low fidelity prototypes and the final version is shown below.

4.5 USER TESTING AND ITERATION

I found four of the previous viewers to test my initial prototypes and found the following design problems.

5.0 FINAL DELIVERY

5.1 LANDING

The infinite loop logo represents the close connection between the Li long net community. After log-in, first time users will be directed to interest selection page where users can select their hobbies and interest which help the backend system to do smart recommendation which tailor to different users’ needs.

5.2 COMMUNITY: EVENT PAGES

The main page is where users get the first hand information from the community. The billboard on the top shows the most updated and urgent community news to be noticed; the community activities area display different short time capsule videos showing the ongoing and past community activities originated by official committee members.

5.3 NEIGHBORS: HELP AND SHARE

The main page is where users get the first hand information from the community. The billboard on the top shows the most updated and urgent community news to be noticed; the community activities area display different short time capsule videos showing the ongoing and past community activities originated by official committee members.

LiLong Net provides a connected community hub where the millennials can gather, get help and create their own memories. It is fun, informational and helpful.

6.0 REFLECTION

Here are the main issues I found in the next round of usability test which I asked ten friends to go through my prototype:
1. After registered for events, it is hard to communicate in groups with other participants.
2.Users question if there should be a ‘cancel’ function for help part. I will consider adding these functions into my next iteration.

Let's have a chat:)
